Scope of work

 

We are looking for a researcher to work closely with our part-time paid project worker and Creative Vision Directors to research and write an e-book on Bangladeshi Culinary Heritage.

 

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate the following:

 

The researcher requires a combination of education, skills, and experience to excel in their field. Some key experiences are essential for heritage researchers include:

 

Education: A strong educational background in fields related to heritage research, such as history, anthropology, archaeology, art history, or cultural studies, is typically necessary for a career in this field. A graduate degree, such as a Master's or PhD, may be required for more advanced roles.

 

Research skills: Heritage researchers must be skilled in conducting research, including locating and analyzing primary and secondary sources, conducting interviews, and collecting data.

 

Field experience: The researcher must have experience through fieldwork.

 

Cultural competency: Heritage researcher must have a strong understanding of Bangladeshi cultures and their histories, as well as an ability to work sensitively and respectfully with community.

 

Communication skills: Effective communication skills are critical for heritage researcher, including the ability to write clearly and persuasively, present findings to various audiences, and collaborate effectively with other researchers, stakeholders, and community members.

 

Knowledge of digital tools: In today's digital age, the heritage researcher also require knowledge of digital tools and technologies.

Overall, heritage researcher must be passionate about the preservation and study of cultural heritage and possess a combination of education, skills, and experience to excel in this field.

Fee

 

The maximum budget for the research and EBook writing in the delivery phase is £18,900 inclusive of expenses and VAT. The book will be copy write free and book will be the property of Creative Vision Luton Limited.

- Outline who is submitting the tender.

- Demonstrate your experience and knowledge.

- Clearly explain how you would approach the research and writing.

- Include a copy of a recent comparable research report.

- Include CVs of staff that would undertake the work and the main client contact.

- Your fee indicates the number of days allocated to each activity.

- A reference of a past client for whom you have undertaken research during the delivery of a National Lottery Heritage Fund funded Activity Plan and a second reference for whom you have prepared a final book script, both within the last 3 years.

- Evidence of public liability and professional indemnity insurance up to £1,000,000.




Job Title: Project Worker

Scope of work

We are looking for a part-time project worker to work closely with a researcher, volunteers and Creative Vision Directors to complete Curry: Bangladeshi Culinary Heritage project.

We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate the following:

The Project worker requires a combination of education, skills, and experience to excel in their field. Some key experiences are essential for project worker include:

Purpose of the post:

1. Operational management of the Project work plan for the Curry: The Bangladeshi Culinary Heritage.

2. Engagement of volunteers, who will help to promote the project at a local level.

3. Overseeing volunteer-led preparation and organising resources within the Bangladeshi community for the project strands: oral history project, to achieve desired project goals.

4. Managing the implementation of the project to ensure agreed targets are met.


Principal Responsibilities: 

• Implement and maintain all administrative processes and procedures for the smooth running of the project.

• Support the volunteers with promotional and marketing activities for the project.

• Work closely with volunteers who will help with the filming. 

• Report to the Creative Vision Director on progress on a weekly basic.

• Monitor volunteers’ reviews of the project’s activities on a weekly basis.

• Contribute to the monitoring the project, including maintaining all records of participation, project activities and feedback.

• Maintain all financial records.

 

Essential skills and experience:

• At least three years’ experience of developing, managing and monitoring community based projects.

• Extensive experience of co-ordinating project teams and volunteers to engage with local communities. Good knowledge and understanding of the Bangladeshi culture and languages.

• Experience of identifying community needs.

·       Experience of filming

 

Fees:

Duration of contract: Mid- to end August 23 to mid- to end November 2024 [dates to be determined pending funding]

Contract fee: £20 per hour (total fee £21000)

Travel expenses for project activities will be provided.
